Greetings everyone and welcome to the first week of June in the strangest of years that we can remember.

It seems like every time I get ready to send around an [FLN – Update], there are even more developments that create a bizarre and strange occurrence throughout our community.

Can you believe that in addition to a quarantine, we now have a curfew?

This is some wild and crazy stuff.

Who would ever have thought that we would use the words quarantine and curfew in the same sentence to describe our current situation?

As I keep mentioning at almost every [FLN – Chapter] meeting, like it or not, Attorneys and professionals will be looked upon to help our community “dig-out” of this rubble caused by recent events. This is a serious leadership role, and we must be prepared mentally, physically and emotionally to provide the necessary guidance, counsel and advice to each and every client.

This is not a time to down-size or retreat, but rather a time to build, expand and continue preparing for the onslaught of legal services that will be needed by so many people in our community.

As Attorneys, we really don't have the luxury of standing around and waiting for things to improve. It is actually our responsibility and duty to make things better by helping clients unravel and address these challenging times.

On that note, let's review the latest and greatest updates:

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

As mentioned in the last FLN - Update - providing that things in our community continue to improve by dining in public, the [FLN - Transition Strategy] from virtual to live meetings will be as follows:

    June 2020:

We will continue with one more round of [FLN - Zoom Chapter Meetings], and we are looking forward to everyone attending these historical events. Don't miss out on getting your photo on the screen and being posted on Social Media. Years from now those photos will be very valuable and historic.

If nothing else, everyone seems to really be improving their technical Zoom skills, and this has been a really important feature in keeping everyone connected during this adventure.

    July 2020:

To give everyone a chance to re-energize, revitalize and recuperate from so many Zoom meetings, we won't be having any official [FLN - Chapter] meetings in July, as this will give folks a chance to venture out and possibly attend a "live" power lunch or two when they are ready.

Additionally, in July we will be having some important webinars about some very interesting topics, like legal marketing, technology, etc….. so be sure to watch for those announcements as well.

    August 2020:

Presuming all goes well and things continue to improve, and venues are ready to accommodate us at lunch, we will be looking to have live [FLN - Chapter] meetings once again.

This is definitely a process and must be done gradually and prudently.

We cannot go from virtual meetings, to live meetings overnight, so before folks are ready to attend an [FLN – Chapter] meeting in August, it will be important for folks to "test the water" and have at least one or two “live” [FLN - Power Lunches] before.

While we cannot control the circumstances around us, we can definitely control our decisions and reactions.

As mentioned in prior updates, I know some of you are ready to start connecting as of yesterday, and even though some groups have already started having "live" power lunches, some of you are not ready yet, and that is perfectly fine.

There will be no pressure, no judgment, no concerns, and no requirements for anyone to do anything they are not ready to do.

We will do our best to accommodate everyone as best we can, and please take your time, feel comfortable, and make things happen then you are ready.

However, do not underestimate that connecting and reconnecting with fellow friends, colleagues and members via Zoom, phone, email or in person on a regular basis is still very important.

We need, and must have, the support, comfort and camaraderie of our friends and colleagues to stay focused, stay positive, and stay strong as we continue to help everyone around us, "dig-out" from the rubble that has been created.

Not connecting is simply not an option.

We need to be at the top of our game at the time when folks need us most, and connecting with fellow [FLN - Members] is essential in making this happen.

So to recap, the June [FLN - Chapter] meetings we will be Zooming, in June/July we will begin transiting with live [FLN - Power Lunches], and then in August, we hope to be back and live with regular [FLN - Chapter] meetings as usual.

Greetings Everyone and welcome to Memorial Day - 2020.

This has been a wild and crazy ride over the last few months, but it has been really great to see how resilient and supportive so many [FLN - Members] have been towards each other.

The virtual [FLN – Chapter] meetings have been going very well, and the [FLN - Power Lunches] have really been very solid, as we have seen a structured format with a great group of colleagues has really made a difference during this extended time of isolation.

The camaraderie throughout FLN has been really great to experience, and even though we are physically distant, it has been great to see so many great friends and colleagues connecting on a regular basis.

There is no doubt that Zoom has made some things more efficient and reduced travel time, but it definitely has limitations. While it’s a convenient alternative, it can never really replace a live presence with friends, family and colleagues.

No matter how many times you hear the same song on your phone, or watch the same ball game on television, there is nothing like the energy and vibrancy that comes from attending a "live" event.

I know some of you are ready to connect and attend a live Chapter meeting as early as yesterday, while some of you will be waiting much longer before you are comfortable to do so.

Either way, we will try and accommodate everyone as best we can, and hopefully the transition will be smooth and uneventful.

As many venues and restaurants start to reopen throughout South Florida they are adjusting to the new format of serving groups, but so far, most of the “well-established” places that we attend, have a solid game plan, and will be reopening to accommodate groups as soon as they are safe, and ready to do so.

Much of the FLN - strategy regarding returning to live Chapter meeting depends on each venue. When and how they can accommodate groups will determine when we can return to a live meeting.

Based on what we know today, here is the current strategy:

    Operation – [FLN – Transition]

Ideally, if all goes well, we would like to resume "live" [FLN - Chapter Meetings] in all [FLN – Chapters] by August 2020, but that is presuming the venues are prepared, and our members are ready to connect.

Meanwhile, it is not realistic that we can go directly from virtual meetings to a live format overnight, so while we wait for everything to improve, the next few weeks and months will be dedicated to attending live [FLN – Power Lunches].

Most [FLN – Chapters] will be taking a month off from regular Chapter meetings in June or July so stay tuned for those particular announcements.

As folks start to venture into the community, it will give everyone a chance to catch your breath from Zoom meetings, and to “test the waters” by attending a live lunch event with your friends and colleagues. Once you do it, I am sure it will feel like old times again.

Of course, this will all depend on your personal level of comfort, and if you would like to keep attending virtual power lunches that will be an option as well.

Essentially, we need to transition gradually and prudently, so before folks can really feel comfortable attending a “live” [FLN – Chapter] meeting, it will be important for folks to “test the water” and attend a live [FLN- Power Lunch].

Of course, only when you are personally ready to do so. There will be no pressure, no judgment, or no requirements to do anything you are not ready to do.

We will take it one step at a time, and always find a way to accommodate.

We all know this has been a wild and crazy adventure, but the key is to always look 6, 9,12 months in advance, and make sure the actions you take today can improve your goals and objectives into the future.

On that note, enjoy the rest of this wonderful 3 day raining weekend, and anytime you start thinking that things could be better, just make a list of everything you want to accomplish over the next year, and your thoughts and actions will follow.

Here is the inspiring quote of the day:

Amateurs practice until they get it right.

Professionals practice until they can’t get it wrong.

    -Anonymous

As always, make it a great day, and

"I sincerely look forward to connecting with you sooner than later.

    Greetings Everyone:

It is really great to report that although it's not like the "real live" interactive and energetic meeting, the [FLN - Virtual Chapter Meetings] have been going very well, and right now the record for the most people attending an [FLN - Virtual Chapter] meeting goes to [FLN - Fort Lauderdale] with an impressive total of 40 people in attendance.

Attendance and participation has been very impressive, and even though we are physically separated, it's really nice to see so many familiar faces on a computer screen during this "corona adventure."

Here is the current status for May of 2020:

Most likely, unless something substantially changes, we will continue to have [FLN - Virtual Chapter Meetings] and [FLN - Virtual Power Lunches] throughout May of 2020.

As things begin to resume, we can review and assess, but for now, we will continue to use Zoom as our favorite method of staying connected.

    Virtual Social Events:

Some of you in some [FLN - Chapters] have suggested some virtual Happy Hours, so stay tuned as those details develop.

    Chapter Speakers/Ethics:

For May 2020 - we will be returning to our regular Chapter Meeting format, and regular Speakers and Ethics will be presented, so get ready to collect your CLE credits once again.

[FLN - Zoom Power Lunches] - in progress.

These are a great and valuable way to stay connected.

Don't get distracted and miss them, because you never know what could develop and lead to a tremendous business opportunity.

    Guests/Candidates/Prospective Members:

For anyone and everyone that is remotely interested in learning more about FLN - we will now be hosting a regular [FLN - Zoom Info Meetings] that all guests, candidates, and prospective members must attend before they can attend an FLN Zoom Chapter meeting.

This ensures they have the latest and most relevant information about FLN before attending their first FLN - Zoom Chapter meeting.

[Click here for the [FLN - Zoom Info Meeting]

    [FLN - Virtual Memberships]

In response to the "corona adventure" FLN has created an [FLN - Virtual Membership] for a short period of time, so qualified candidates that are interested, can start building and developing these valuable connections before the fog is lifted, and the clouds disappear.

Anyone interested, can attend the [FLN - Info Meeting] to learn more about these valuable opportunities.

Suffice it to say, we want all [FLN - Members] to have the ability to connect and reconnect with each other at a time where physical

    interaction is very limited.

    In the meantime . . . . .

Be creative and look for ways to consistently and routinely provide "value and benefit" to your friends and colleagues on a regular basis.

    "Adventure is worthwhile."

    -Aesop

As always, stay strong, stay positive, stay focused and . . . . .

"I sincerely look forward to connecting with you sooner than later."

    Greetings Everyone:

Since things are considerably different than they were earlier this month, have you recently asked yourself a very important question?

What ideas, concepts, strategies or projects are you determined to complete during this adventure that you never had time for before?

While many attorneys and professionals I connect with have been fortunate to maintain a busy and full schedule some real questions come to mind.

Are you taking this opportunity to really work on the most important things right now that will make the biggest impact in the future?

We all know this storm is going to pass, and while we have some extra time to reflect and ponder - are you ready for the next wave of excitement in this adventure?

Think about all the new laws that are being enacted that will need lots of great attorneys to review, interpret, and facilitate for so many clients.

Think about the ways you will market and promote your message to your clients and colleagues on how your firm is ready, willing and able to handle the needs of society.

Right now, it may be calmer than before, but whether it’s Bankruptcy, Family Law, Estate Planning, Real Estate closings and leases - Employment Law, Tax Law - attorneys will be looked upon to help the community dig out of the rubble.

Don't miss a beat during this particular time. Very soon there will be lots of innovative and creative needs that attorneys will need to address so if your marketing plan needs to be created, updated or modified, now is a great time to make that happen.

    As Jim Rohn would say . . . .

“Successful people do what unsuccessful people are

    not willing to do."

"Don’t wish it were easier, wish you were better.”

    -Jim Rohn

Stay Strong, Stay Positive and Stay Focused.

    As always . . . .

“I sincerely look forward to connecting

    with you sooner than later.”

Make it a great day, and please feel welcome to reply with any exciting stories, tales or experiences you recently encountered.

    Greetings Everyone:

Doesn't anyone think it's odd, that during this time of "social distancing" that every press conference includes more than 10 people standing side by side telling everyone else to limit their contact with everyone else?

During this “corona adventure” what exactly is the best greeting when you close a conversation with someone?

In Florida - we say - "stay safe" - because we are used to the Hurricanes dropping trees on homes and cars.

In New York - they are saying "great to connect with you, but seriously just stay away" - blunt and direct.

In California, Colorado and other states where marijuana has been legalized they are still laughing, and tend to finish every conversation with "Dude - you gotta stay stoned until thing is over."

Undoubtedly, interesting stuff during these interesting times.

On a more relevant matter, I just finished a one hour phone conference with a legal marketing expert, and his system reports that because people are glued to their computers - many internet searches are being conducted to search for attorneys in every area of practice. From Admiralty to Zoning every area of law will be needed for this most unique and challenging time frame.

More on this sooner than later……

    Are you Zoom ready?

Unless you are just joining us from your recent travel to space – we won’t be having any live "in person" Chapter meetings through the rest of March 2020, but at this time – FLN – formally announces that April 2020 will be [FLN – Zoom Chapter Meeting] month.

During April 2020 - the regular [FLN – Chapter] meetings will be conducted virtually, and will take place live at the normal date and time that each Chapter normally meets. Everyone should know when their [FLN – Chapter] meets so mark your calendars for the adventure.

In preparation for Zoom to be a more relevant part of our communication, FLN will be conducting some Zoom tests and Zoom tutorials for this upcoming adventure, so stay tuned as more details as develop.

    Whats App Groups:

Remember during this time when we are not meeting regularly, its important for everyone to stay connected with fellow colleagues and friends through the Chapter WhatsApp group.

    Don’t be shy.

Best thing you can do is post an inspirational message, and I am sure your fellow friends and colleagues will appreciate it.

Our [FLN – WhatsApp] First Place Award for this week goes out to [FLN – West Broward Chapter] for posting a really great and inspiring video.

Click at the bottom of this email to view…..

Meanwhile, until Florida joins other states mentioned above, my favorite way to finish every communication is to say……

“I sincerely look forward to connecting with you sooner than later.”

Make it a great day, and please feel welcome to reply with any exciting stories, tales or experiences you recently experienced.

    Greetings Everyone:

During this time of independence and reflection be sure to use your [FLN - Chapter - WhatsApp Group] to communicate frequently and efficiently with your fellow FLN Members.

Even though we are not able to connect in person, several of our [FLN - Chapters] have been making great use of the WhatsApp Group, and you if you still have not joined your [FLN - Chapter WhatsApp Group] reply to this email so that we can send you the details.

If you have joined your [FLN - Chapter WhatsApp Group] - use it to connect with your fellow friends and colleagues during this exciting adventure.

As time permits, we will be sending around awards and recognition of activity on the [FLN - Chapter WhatsApp Group].

Currently, here is how things shape up in using this feature:

First Place goes to the [FLN - Doral Chapter] for the best use and content of [FLN - WhatsApp Chapter Group]. The group is lively, informative, funny, educational, and really uses the group to connect frequently and efficiently.

Second Prize goes to the [FLN - Miami Chapter] for content, activity and information. However, the [FLN - Miami Chapter] comes in first place for consistently posting great photos of each and every [FLN - Power Lunch]. This makes a huge difference, and this Chapter has been great with posting lots of great referrals on a regular basis.

Some of the other [FLN - Chapters] present some information sporadically, but not as consistent as these 2 [FLN - Chapters].

Remember - just find something useful, educational or inspiring to post and share with your fellow - [FLN - Members] and they will greatly appreciate your contributions.

Truthfully, there is no sense having lots of great information within us, unless we are ready, willing and able to provide "Value and Benefit" to fellow members and colleagues on a regular basis.

So take a moment to post something great in the [FLN - Chapter - WhatsApp Group] and maybe your Chapter will get some recognition and bragging rights in the next update.

Until then stay positive, stay strong, and stay active. The alternative is un-captivating.

And when this is all over, there is going to be a serious [FLN - Happy Hour] to celebrate the passing of this unnamed storm.

As always, I look forward to connecting with you sooner than later.

    Greetings Everyone:

As many of you are aware, meeting in public places until April 15, 2020 is very unlikely, so until we get more information from our Federal, State and/or Local officials, we won't be having any live [FLN - Chapter Meetings] or [FLN - Power Lunches].

However, to remain active, connected and engaged with our fellow [FLN - Members] colleagues, and friends, we must use this particular time to implement some creative and powerful alternatives.

Coming soon to a computer screen near you - [FLN - Zoom Meetings] will begin.

If you have not already done so, you must get familiar with Zoom.

Zoom has become the key to video conferencing, and Zoom will be very relevant as we stay connected with staff, clients and colleagues during this current adventure.

Here are the steps you need to take to implement Zoom.

Simply go to Zoom.com or Google how to use Zoom, and learn more.

You don't have to create a Zoom account to use this feature, and unless you are planning to host large meetings, or more than 40 minutes, the service is free, and getting a good video camera for your computer is important.

This is an important first step in the process, and I am confident we can make this work effectively and efficiently.

If you have already had some good Zoom Video meeting, please reply and let me know about your experience.

In the meantime, stay strong, stay positive and really take this time to plan to some big goals and objectives that you are looking to accomplish.

Greetings Everyone and welcome to this adventurous, challenging and interesting time in our community.

Lots of things have changed in the last week, and during this adventure we need to think creatively about solutions and opportunities that can help provide some great "value and benefit" to our clients and colleagues.

We know that personal contact with colleagues and friends will be compromised right now, but let's think about all of the things we can do.

-Video Conferencing, phone conferencing, emailing and Social Media will become very big aspects of every business in the immediate future. Learning, enhancing and perfecting these features will be essential during this time, and undoubtedly this will prove very efficient, productive and effective.

-Even though all of these communication options are readily available, they will become even more essential as everyone starts thinking about creative ways to connect and communicate on a regular basis.

As we regroup and reevaluate this dynamic situation here are some great quotes to inspire some great thoughts:

There's going to be stress in life,

but it's your choice whether to let it affect you or not.

    -Valerie Bertinelli

you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win.

    -Zig Ziglar

    ____________________________________

On a much lighter side, here are some great things we can appreciate:

    -We don't have to put up any shutters, so using ladders won't be necessary;

    -Gas prices are really great right now, so taking a nice long drive and listening to audible may be a great opportunity;

    -We have the technology to make more toilet paper so even though shelves are bare; suppliers will still find a way to deliver more products;

-Oil stocks and cruise ship stocks are really low right now, so you can buy low, sell high, and go on a great vacation when this clears.

Otherwise, the best way to really address the current scenario is to pretend a really big tree fell in our path, and we have to find a way to remove it, climb over it, or cut through it so we can continue onto the path of success and prosperity. Other options are less captivating.

Until then I look forward to connecting with you sooner than later.

  • March 12, 2020 3:00 PM | Mo N. ElDeiry, Esquire (Administrator)

    Greetings Everyone:

For those of you just tuning in....

Lots of events around town are being cancelled from the health advisory and concerns of the "Coronavirus."

It's a wild and wacky adventure, and it seems to have new cancellations, and developments each and every day.

From NBA games, to Concerts, to Nursing Home, to Colleges, it seems everything is getting canceled, modified or rescheduled.

Regardless of where we are in the cycle of this virus, it will definitely inconvenience all of us for the foreseeable future.

While we continue to gather details and information about this new adventure, FLN has a made an official decision to cancel [FLN - Chapter Meetings] for the next few weeks, and we can reassess the strategy towards the end of March 2020.

That means rather than having nominal attendance at [FLN - Chapter Meetings] for the remainder of March, we are going to cancel the upcoming Chapter meeting for March 2020, then monitor the situation closely, and learn what develops.

Obviously, we are all looking forward to a more relaxed predictable environment, but in the meantime, giving ourselves some space from group events is hopefully a good start in reducing concerns and hesitation.

In the meantime, for small group gatherings like the [FLN - Power Lunches] or individual meetings, you can use your own judgment and discretion on coordinating, hosting, attending, networking, etc...

Obviously, you must use your own discretion any time you decide to leave your home, so that part is up to each and every individual.

During this hiatus over the next few weeks, it will give everyone a chance to work on your business plans, marketing plans, networking plans, and budgets.

Plus, you can also binge watch Netflix when the opportunity arises.

    So......

    Unless you hear otherwise....

As of Thursday, March 12, 2020 - here is the official update from the [FLN - Headquarters]:

[FLN - Chapter Meetings] through the remainder of March 2020 are currently cancelled, and we will continue to monitor the situation very carefully, and will provide details and updates as they become available.

Meanwhile, you can still use emails, phones, WhatsApp, etc... to connect and reconnect with fellow [FLN - Members], and this is a great time to work on your social media campaign as well.

As always, I sincerely look forward to connecting with you sooner than later.
